One long-time patron gushes about the “best onion rings and fries” they’ve ever had, highlighting that everything is made fresh in-house—something you can truly taste in every bite. Another customer notes the unmistakable care evident in the quality of the hamburgers and fries, crediting CBC Cleveland’s independence from the Chattanooga location as a stepping stone to even better fare.
Whether you're stopping by after hours or settling in for a casual night, CBC Cleveland offers a rare combination of excellent, thoughtfully prepared food and a lively bar scene with pool tables, darts, and a smoky, old-school charm that many find nostalgic and genuine. Improvements in cleanliness have also been noted, with attentive staff keeping the environment fresh and welcoming.
For anyone seeking a down-to-earth place where craftsmanship meets comfort food, CBC Cleveland is a destination that doesn’t just satisfy hunger—it creates an experience worth returning to again and again.
Absolutely the best onion rings and fries I’ve ever had. They make everything in house. My burger, The Southwestern, was huge and delicious. Can’t believe you can get food this great so late in the evening! Wow!
The hamburgers and fries are hands down the best I've ever tasted; it's clear they put a lot of care into grinding their own meat and freshly cutting their own fries. It's worth noting that CBC Cleveland is now completely independent and is no longer connected to CBC Chattanooga – and, in my opinion, they are even better! Beyond the outstanding food, they have an excellent variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the staff consistently provides friendly and attentive service. As someone who enjoys a smoke break, I also want to highlight that this is one of the most accommodating places for smokers in the area. Personally, my wife and I prefer a more relaxed environment and aren't big fans of the typical busy nighttime bar atmosphere, so we always choose to dine during lunchtime. The lunchtime crowd is usually very calm and easygoing, which allows for a truly pleasant meal and drink without the stress of a crowded, noisy setting. Another fantastic aspect is that they are incredibly accommodating and are happy to customize orders to your preferences, and I've always found the food quality to be very reliable, which I really value.
Man I Love This Bar!!! Angie, Meagan, Aubrey, are Awesome People. Sam is without a doubt the best cook and the owner Matt thank you for providing Cleveland with an awesome restaurant and Billiard Club.
Old school bar still a smokers bar but if you’ve been around great bar with pool and darts definitely coming back
Food was delicious, server was friendly and prompt!! Smoke didn’t bother me at all, place could use a good dusting but otherwise awesome experience and will be back Edit: so we def came back and food was still amazing the service was good and quick. They were actually dusting everything off when we were in there so I appreciate if you saw my previous review and took action. Apologies for creating more work. However - I love this place so much and so do my parents. Keep it up
I’ve been saying this for a couple years now, and I am (obviously) partial to Bar Food (if you really know who I am and what I do for a living). But, CBC Cleveland has some of the best food available in the area. It’s one of our go-to spots when we have time off. We especially enjoy going on weekday afternoons and sitting on the patio when it’s not super-packed. Today, I ordered the Hamburger Steak Plate with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and Steamed Broccoli. He ordered a Fried Chicken Salad w/ Ranch, but asked them to toss the chicken in their Nashville Hot Sauce. They absolutely accommodated and delivered a wonderful well-priced meal. Aubrey, the bartender, whom we’ve grown to know and love is fantastic. They’re doing a lot of renovating at the moment in Downtown Cleveland, but it’s definitely worth the navigational challenge. If you get the chance, take advantage of this hidden gem. They are “more than just a bar”. Their food and service has never disappointed me.
